Faulty Pregnancy Tests in U.K.

Tuesday February 17, 2004
A problem has been found in pregnancy tests given in the U.K. Doctors are encouraging women who have received a negative test to retest so that they do not jeopardize the health of their babies, should they actually be pregnant. Reports indicate that the error rate for these tests could be as high as 30 percent (most tests have an error rate of less than 1 percent). Research is being done to find out why these errors are occurring.

i have been pregnant 7 times but due to complications i only have two children.
on my first pregnancy it took over8/10wks to say that i was pregnant i must have bought at least 15 tests? so then i decided to seek medical advice from my local surgery. and i was right i was pregnant?
then to my horror, in june 2006, i did 4 pregnancy tests and three revealed a possitive result, then at about 7 weeks pregnant i started bleeding, i went straight to the hospital and when they did a pregnancy test it was negative??? they even took blood to be sure? mayb it’s just me and i have no luck but i thought this was descusting.
then on the 8th of jan2007 i did a pregnancy test which relevled yet again i was pregnant, twice on 2 different samples of urine.
then when i did one the day after using a different brand it said i wasnt i just wanted to make sure, i feel sick, that such an importand thing to me should be wrong.because i went back to the doctors had a blood test which the doctor conferms i am pregnant so mayb when i have my baby, i will buy 200 tests all different brands and see which one lies the most?? then i think i should reveal my finding to the local news paper??
