Vaccine Lowers Infection Rates

According to a study conducted by the Centers for Disease Control, the vaccine Prevnar has proven effective at preventing infections caused by streptococcus pneumoniae bacteria. This bacteria can cause pneumonia and meningitis as well as infections in the middle ear. In addition, the report states that the vaccine is closing the gap of infection rates that has long existed between blacks and whites.
