Tomato Stain Experiment Success

From Stephanie Brown, About.com GuideAugust 18, 2005

Follow me on:

OK, so you remember the tomato stain on my white plastic spoon? Well, I set it out in a sunny spot and guess what? It promptly rained for the next two days. But alas, when the sun came out and shone brightly on my icky spoon, the stain was gone by the end of the day. Not only was the tomato stain gone, but so was that other brown mystery stain which had been there for years. Go figure.

I'm about to go through my plasticware drawer and get all the other tomato-stained pieces and let them sunbathe, too. For the record, "the man" says that his solution to tomato stains has been to buy Rubbermaid's Stain Shield line. For me, though, I'm all about the Gladware because I can't afford to replace the Rubbermaid stuff every time it mysteriously disappears. Plus, when the Gladware starts looking a little sad, it fits nicely into the very complicated Lego storage sytem we have goin' on.

Great suggestion! Have numerous of those and have avoided touching tomato with my great utensils, now no worry.
