The Nursing Bracelet
This is a product I wish I'd had when I was nursing my son. I could never remember which breast I'd finished with by the next nursing and the safety pin trick never worked for me. What I ended up with was a lot of nursing bras with safety pins permanently affixed to one strap. (This did come in handy when I needed a safety pin, however.) And what about the days (and there were many) when I didn't even wear a bra?
Susan Lazor must have had a similar issue, as I'm sure many nursing moms do. It's hard to keep track of feedings when you're tired and there are so many new things to remember. Inspired by her breastfeeding experience with her son, she came up with a solution -- The Nursing Bracelet. It helps you keep track of your baby's feeds in several ways. You can switch it from arm to arm to remember which breast to feed from first. You can move the charm to remember when your baby last ate or you can use the charm to tick off the number of feeds or diapers.
Apart from the functionality, it's actually attractive. And I have to say -- that would have been a self-esteem booster, too. Most of the first weeks settling into nursing and motherhood were spent in my bathrobe and it was a good day indeed if I remembered to brush my hair. Having something beautiful like this to wear would have been nice.
