I got no response to my mid-January request I submitted on simplicityforchildren.com, for a retrofit kit for my Model 8740 kcw-SC crib (which I bought used for $100 in December, when my granddaughter from FL was going to visit us in NC for a week). I found 4 phone#s for Simplicity, none of which are working numbers. I finally emailed the US Consumer Product Safety Commission. They replied saying Simplicity For Children is out of business, and no retrofit kits are available anymore for this recalled crib. Simplicityforchildren. com is the web site of a defunct company.

I have called that # and it is dead air. i have called the 800# shown on the CPSC website and it is out of service.
I purchased this at Walmart in Port Huron MI and spoke to their CS manager who said to bring it in for store credit. I live in Ontario Canada and have to drive 2 hours to take this thing back. I was hoping SOMEONE had luck at the retailer before I do this??? From what I have seen, it’s a bust. I guess we learnt our lesson by cheaping out huh?! Next time I will be spending the extra for a great crib- I thought with the name GRACO on it, this would not have happened- not the recall, but the run around afterwards…what a nightmare.
