Today is Election Day -- Go Vote!

Tuesday November 7, 2006
I just got back from casting my vote in today's U.S. elections. I was pleasantly surprised on two counts. First, there was the option to either use touch screens or paper ballots. I know I work out here on the Internets and all, so I should be a little more trusting of technology. But I'm not. (Blue screen of death, anyone?) I opted for the good old fashioned pen and paper system. Also, there was no long line to wait in.

On second thought, I don't know if that's a good thing. Sure, it meant I didn't have to stand around all morning but it also means that more people should be out there voting. So bundle up the baby and load some snacks in the diaper bag and get out there, folks. Especially if you've got issues on the ballot that will affect your child's future school. Babies and toddlers today will be school-agers in a few years, scary as that thought may be.

If you are wondering about some of the common questions that come up about voting, About Guide Robert Longley has answers for you. Find out where to vote in your area, what to do if you make a mistake voting and more about the voting and election process.
