Do I Have to Warm My Baby's Food?
Saturday November 3, 2007
A parent asked: "I've heard that some people do not heat up the baby food or other food for babies. The food is alway cold, straight from the refrigerator. Is this healthy?" Find out the answer...

I have three kids - one who is 3.5 and twins who are now 21 months. I never heated up the jarred food for the kids. It was much easier when we were travelling, and they are all great eaters. They ate everything we gave them and we tried to give as much variety as possible in the jar food).
I simply didn’t like the idea of putting the food in the microwave and the resulting varied temperature inside. A friend of mine had heated food for her daughter, and it didn’t seem hot, but the middle section was VERY hot.
I had only occasionally put food in the refrigerator when they were infants, but they ate it without fuss as well.
All three continue to be good eaters, and eat food of varying temperatures, now that they are on to “adult” food.
I have alway given both of my boys baby food right out the jar with out heating it up and they did great on it. I agree with the last comment. It was much harder to warm up the food than just feeding it out of the jar. Both of my boys are great eaters never bothered them at all.
As a new Dad, I’ve gotten a ton of great parenting ideas from http://www.dadlabs.com/. It’s a great resource; I highly recommend it.
