There are a lot of reasons why the Consumer Product Safety Commission doesn't like these pacifiers:

  • The pacifier shield is too small
  • The ventilation holes are too small
  • The ventilation holes are not placed to allow insertion of a tool to remove the pacifier when lodged in the mouth
  • The package fails to display the required warning instructing consumers not to tie a pacifier around a child's neck

They've been sold at dollar stores since 2004, so be on the lookout. You can't send them back to the company, either. You've got to remember which store you bought them from and take them there to get a refund.
