Baby Feng Shui

Sunday March 30, 2008

Have you ever considered the feng shui in your baby's environment?

I just read this piece by Rodika Tchi about a couple whose baby was having trouble sleeping. They called Rodika in to check out their house and see if any changes could be made to help the situation. The recommendations she gave for the nursery weren't too surprising. It can be a good idea to keep your baby's sleeping environment as calm and peaceful as possible, especially if you know your baby has problems with sleep. Trying more neutral colors, putting toys away at the end of the day and keeping cribs away from air vents can all help.

Rodika also talks about electromagnetic fields from electrical gadgets but here's something I notice with the gadgets -- LEDs. All those LEDs can make a baby's room look more like the space shuttle's control panel or a lighted Christmas tree.

This was the gem I didn't see coming, however:

"The parents' bedroom came back to its 'original' look and feel of a bedroom of two adults who love to share intimate moments, as well as have a good night sleep! This included gathering all the baby-related items in a small area that was visually not competing with the main purpose of an adult bedroom: to sleep and make love."

Oh yeah, baby. That's the kind of feng shui I'm talkin' about. How about you guys? Has your bedroom transformed since having a baby?
