Recent Recalls

There have been a number of recalls recently, including the recall of Mommy's Bliss Nipple Cream. The cream contains some ingredients (chlorphenesin and phenoxyethanol) that can cause respiratory distress, vomiting and diarrhea in infants. Stop using it immediately and contact a health care provider if you notice any adverse side effects such as decrease in appetite, difficulty awakening, limp arms and legs, weak grip or change in skin color. On top of this, the ingredients can actually make the condition it's used to treat — cracked nipples — worse by causing dermatitis. The FDA would like families who may be affected to participate in reporting. You can find out more about the recall and the reporting program at the FDA site.
