Toilet Training in a Day?
What I love about this idea is the very matter-of-fact manner Sweeney has about her. She has the kids clean up and take responsibility for their own messes and doesn't get involved with a lot of emotional response like expressing disappointment, anger or punishing kids for accidents (though she does offer encouragement and praise when kids make it in the potty.) I don't, however, think that these kids leave her home and it's "Mission Accomplished." Potty training takes time and practice for both parents and kids, but the skills she's giving to parents can definitely propel them toward success. I like the message that kids need to learn to be in charge of their bodies and that potty training is a very important first step.
