McNeil Consumer Healthcare is recalling some lots of Children's and Infant Tylenol even though no bacterial contamination was found in a finished product and even the portion of the raw material where some contamination was found was not used in production. This is as a precaution only since an infection involving this type of bacteria (Burkholderia cepacia) can be especially problematic for those with compromised immune systems or lung conditions. There have been no reports of problems with any of these products, however.

If you have one of these affected bottles, please contact the company at 1-800-962-5357 and they will send you a new bottle. The makers of Tylenol are incredibly cautious about their product and this is just another great example in my eyes.
When I learned about this recall earlier last week I checked my Tylenol (which is one of the recalled products) I called the company as suggested and was told “ma’am, this recall is voluntary and you can keep using the product without harm”! I was appauled by this response from Tylenol and through it away. So basically don’t expect a replacement product from them
