I love Halloween. But I am not a fan of trick-or-treating. As an alternative, our family tries to throw a party every October 31. It's way better (my kids even say) than hoping for M&Ms when you keep getting rocks (or is that just Charlie Brown).
A good party really doesn't take much money or weeks of preparation. In fact, you can use our series of videos on Halloween to quickly pull things together and enjoy a kid-friendly Halloween blast.

One great thing about skipping the trick-or-treating in favor of a party is that you control the menu. Also, you aren’t left with sackfuls of sticky goodies to spark more battles.
