Stephanie BrownBefore coming to About.com, Stephanie Brown spent four years at iVillage Parenting (formerly ParentsPlace.com) and was a pioneer in the field of online communities. Prior to and since leaving that position in 2000, she has filled many roles working with young children and parenting her son. Experience:Stephanie has worked with children since her teens with over 30 nieces and nephews to help babysit. Soon after high school she began working with the Head Start program and then in an NAEYC accredited child care center. There she learned that babies and toddlers were her favorite age group. She gave birth to a son in 1995 and soon after began working for ParentsPlace.com as the director of community and operations. Later she returned to infant caregiving in another accredited child care setting. Education:Stephanie attends college at the University of Maine at Augusta where she is working toward a degree in library and information science. Her prior coursework is primarily in early childhood education, information research and English. From Stephanie Brown:Parenting babies and toddlers can be hectic. I hope to shape the site so that you can make the most efficient use of your online time, and spend more time doing what is most important. I look forward to bringing you the best of my knowledge of the online parenting world as well as my experience as a mom and caregiver. If you ever find a spare minute, however, I know you'll find our parenting forums a warm and welcome place to get parent-to-parent support and advice. See you there!
