Question: What is Week of the Young Child?
What is the Week of the Young Child?
Answer: The Week of the Young Child is a yearly event created in 1971 by the National Association for the Education of Young Children. The purpose is to help the public become aware of quality early childhood programs (like child care centers and providers, early intervention services, Head Start, etc.) that are focused on meeting the needs of children in the birth-8 age range.

In 2011, the Week of the Young Child event will take place from April 10-16.

In 2012, it will take place from April 22-28.
