This cider is a sweet treat for little ones, and since maple syrup is the sweetener (instead of honey) even your youngest can savor a sip.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 6 cups apple cider
  • 3 tablespoons real maple syrup (not maple flavored)
  • 1 vanilla bean, split
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 10 whole allspice berries

PREPARATION:

Mix the apple cider and maple syrup in a saucepan.

Add the remaining ingredients.

Cover and simmer for 30 minutes.

Strain the liquid and discard any solid bits.

Serve in mugs, making sure to allow time to cool for little mouths.
