Stamp Gum

By Stephanie Brown, About.com

This gum can be used on the back of paper to make stamps and stickers.
Prep Time: :5
Cook Time: :5
Ingredients:
  • 1/4 of a 3 ounce packet of gelatin
  • 1 tablespoon cold water
  • 3 tablespoons boiling water
  • 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • 2 drops boric acid solution
Preparation:
Add the gelatin to the cold water in order to soften it.

When soft, pour the mixture into the boiling water and stir until dissolved.

Add the remaining ingredients and mix thoroughly.

To use the glue, brush a small amount onto the back of decorated paper and allow to dry completely. When ready to use the sticker or stamp you have created, just moisten and apply. This recipe is also handy in case your postage stamps have lost their "stick."

Store in a bottle with a lid. It will turn solid, so just warm the bottle in a pan of water over low heat to turn it back into liquid.
