Here is a no-fail recipe for classic peanut butter cookies that any kid could love.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

PREPARATION:

Combine butter, peanut butter, sugars, vanilla and egg and beat until fluffy.

Stir the dry ingredients together in a separate bowl and add them to the butter mixture. Blend thoroughly.

Roll into 1-inch balls and put the balls about 2 inches apart on a baking sheet (not greased).

Flatten with fork to make a criss-cross pattern.

Bake at 350 degrees F for 10 minutes or until lightly browned.
