PREPARATION:Combine butter, peanut butter, sugars, vanilla and egg and beat until fluffy. Stir the dry ingredients together in a separate bowl and add them to the butter mixture. Blend thoroughly. Roll into 1-inch balls and put the balls about 2 inches apart on a baking sheet (not greased). Flatten with fork to make a criss-cross pattern.
