Day 5 - - Read!
Summer Fun

By Stephanie Brown, About.com

If it's a rainy day, you don't have to depend on T.V. Curl up on the couch or spread a blanket out on the floor and read some books. Here are ten top books for infants and toddlers.

Keep the theme going!

To keep the reading theme going, make letter pancakes, have alphabet soup for lunch or do a craft with alphabet macaroni. For smaller hands spread a thin layer of glue over a piece of construction paper and let them place the pasta on however they wish for a collage. For your older child, challenge them to try and spell out names, places and more.

Find out how you can keep your older kids reading all summer long!

Vision Screening

Good reading starts with good vision. Make sure your child has a proper vision screening by one year of age or sooner if you suspect there's a problem.
