How to Handle a Temper Tantrum

If you give your child a chance to regroup, use their age. As an example, if the toddler is upset and is 2 years old, give them 2 minutes to calm down. They forget quickly and want to play again!

Time Out

If I know my little girl is just trying to get her way, I put her straight in time out for 5 minutes. She can keep throwing a hissy fit in the chair, too, as long as she's in that chair. It's funny how when the timer goes off, the tears dry right up and she's ready to get back to play time.
