Favorite Board Books for Baby

My 9 month old daughter likes to look at books. Some that seem to catch her attention more are: Good Night Moon, I Love you Stinky Face, Kisses for Daddy, Flip Flap Fly by Phyllis Root, Curious George at the Zoo (touch and feel), The Very Hungry Caterpillar and other Eric Carle books, and Ten Little Ladybugs by Melanie Gerth.

Ten Little Monkeys

My 8-month-old granddaughter loves this book, especially when I get to the part where the Dr. says in his deep voice "No more monkeys jumping on the bed." She looks at me each time just before we get to this part.

Ten in the Bed

My daughter is 18 months old and her favorite is Ten in the Bed. I think it is based on a song. There are many different versions by different authors and illustrators. She has a board book version.

Hands, Hands, Fingers Thumb

My 11-month-old loves books, but this is his absolute favorite. He will turn my face to him when I read it so he can see my face. He loves to touch the little monkies and drum on the chair's arms.

Great New Book for My 2-Year Old Girl

I just found this great new book for my two toddler daughters. It's called Tippi Toes: Pink Ballet Shoes by Sarah Nuse. They went NUTS for it. So great. I found it on Amazon.com.

Favorite Board Books

My 14 month old loves all books but his favorite board books are 'So Big!' (a baby Elmo book), 'Chugga-Chugga Choo-Choo', 'Dear Zoo', & 'Brown Bear Brown Bear What Do You See?'. I must have read each one at least a few hundred times by now. Chicka Chicka Boom Boom is his favorite book but he does not like the board book version. Unlike the other reviewer I disagree - it is only 1/2 the story. The shortened board book version of Chugga-Chugga Choo-Choo just leaves out a few details.

Yummy Yucky

My toddler thinks this book is hilarious. During the day he likes to be quizzed about all kinds of things that are yummy or yucky!

My Car & Green Eggs and Ham

My 29 month old loves these books. He can retell the story in My Car and listens so intently to Green Eggs and Ham. He's starting to sit through the Thomas and Friends books too.

Great Toddler Books

I don't know what else to add to this already great list of toddler books, although "Goodnight Moon" seems to missing, and it is definitely a classic and great for putting the kids to bed! :)

Toddler's favourite book

My 10-month-old loves "Snuggle Up Little Ones", a book about the animals snuggling up for bedtime. It has great pastel pictures and it rhymes throughout.

My toddler loves "No No Yes Yes"

My little one loves this book, especially because we say "No No" really loud and silly and "Yes Yes" super soft and sweet. He loves the fun we have with the changes in inflection and the great part is adding our own "life specific" examples at the end and in our everyday life as they come about.

A Great Dr. Seuss Book

One book I love is "My Many Colored Days" by Dr. Seuss. It's not the traditional Dr. Seuss book, in that the illustrations are different. But it's great to discuss feelings and learning about colors.

Three We Love

Goodnight Baby, All About Me, and The little Doghouse -- she loves all three over and over again.

Book of Songs

We have a library of classics and among them is a book with a song tape of traditional Americana songs -- Daisy, Daisy; She'll be Coming Round the Mountain; as well as kid faves like Wheels on the Bus. 20-month-old carries it around singing them ALL THE TIME.

My 29-month-old granddaughter loves to look at the three different I Spy board books that I have.
