Crunch Time

Well, we have 19 weeks left and counting and it is time to get down to business. My mom has officially started on the baby bedding as of tonight and the mural lady is coming Tuesday which means the room will be painted not too long after that. I think we are going to go with a light yellow, maybe, to go with this fabric:

Kimber's Baby Fabric

The bumper pads are going to be the floral with denim piping, the bed ruffle is going to be denim and the comforter is going to be yellow chenille on one side and squares of all the fabrics on the other with a denim ruffle around the edges. The curtains are going to be denim with the red check piping and red check tie backs with a floral valance. The table skirt will be the yellow chenille with a red check ruffle around the bottom and a floral 1/4 inch skirt to go over it.

We are also starting to do our research on car seats. I think we have found the one that Jason is going to put in his truck. It is the Triumph DLX and it looks really comfy. Not to mention that it has five reclining positions and a cup holder! Gotta love the gadgets. We have been starting to look at the combo sets. The stroller/car seat thing. Jason was really not interested in getting one because he heard somewhere that they weren't safe. But, after reading Consumer Reports, I found that only one was completely unsafe and it was the Evenflo PortAbout 5 seat that came apart from the base in an accident.

When I found out that I was pregnant, I immediately subscribed to American Baby and Parents magazines. I think that Parents magazine is a little ahead of where I am but the information could be useful down the road. I'm thinking that I really don't need to know how to tell my daughter about how boys view her when they are going through puberty, just yet. I'm still trying to decide which breast pump to buy. American Baby magazine is by far one of my favorites due to all the fun baby products. Learning about all the new stuff has been one of my favorite parts of pregnancy. I mean, who knew that they had made anything new since the Diaper Genie? Well, probably a lot of people, but 1995 was the last time I cared for a small child and all this new stuff is just too cool!

Although, they really need to put the Sit and Spin back at the top of the list for child and adult entertainment.

So, we are just starting to make our way into the world of baby gear and I will be sure to let you know what I find out. In the meantime, daddy is still adjusting to having a little girl on the way. Although, he has come a long way from the deer-in-headlights look that I got at the doctor's office, he still has some adjusting to do and I'm positive once he holds her in his arms, he'll melt. She actually started moving two days ago to where I can really feel her. Before, it was just a bubble or two and then nothing. Now, when she moves, SHE MOVES. I can tell that it is something moving and the bubbles are turning into real movement.

Oh, I almost forgot. The cardiologist cleared me completely from needing any help at delivery. In fact, he said that he thinks I was misdiagnosed and that there are no problems showing up. He did actually clarify the "extra help" that my doctor was referring to and that was that they might have had to give me antibiotics during delivery.

I'll leave you with a recent picture of my belly. Have a great weekend!
