Presents

Well, the presents are starting to roll in slowly, now that we know that it is a girl. Seems everyone was waiting to find out so that they could go shopping. My inlaws AND my sister both want to buy us the crib that we are looking at. It is a three-in-one crib and I can't seem to find a picture of it. It is oak, with a rustic look to it. So, now, we just need to decide if we really want to spend $400 on a crib or not. Even though we are saving money on the dresser by using Jason's antique dresser, it still seems like a lot for a bed. And that doesn't even include the mattress.

Speaking of my sister, she came over last night to watch the second episode of "Big Brother" and brought me a little gift for baby girl. She brought some really cute receiving blankets and six hair bow/elastic headbands that my dad hates with a passion. I love them and will take every opportunity for her to wear them while she is too young to know any different.

We got registered Saturday night. We ended up registering for the Triumph DLX car seat that I mentioned and also the Evenflo Aura Elite along with an extra base to put in Jason's truck.

The swing and bouncy chair are my favorite. I love the little leaves and animals that twirl at the top and I love the way it swings from side to side.

I decided to go ahead and register for the Medela Pump in Style Advance. I can always either change my mind or return it. It seems the best one and although I have to carry it back and forth to work, I don't think it will be that bad with the carrying case and such. I guess we'll see.

We also went ahead and registered for a couple toys, onesies, diapers, the Diaper Champ, the boppy pillow and just a bunch of other miscellaneous stuff. I think the only thing I really missed was wipes and I can go back and add those any time.

My first shower is Sept. 10 and the second shower is Sept. 17, which seems far away but at the same time, very close. We still have so much to do. But, we wanted to make sure and have the showers far enough out so that we could see what we still needed and also make sure that I felt good enough to enjoy that much company at one time. I tend to be a little anti-social when I don't feel good. I'm already having very vivid dreams of who I am going to kick out of my hospital room. My advice: Start a list of who you want out since it may be the only time you ever can be mean to people you don't like and get away with it.

The mural lady came by last night and we shared some of our ideas with her. We basically want a mixture of both of our tastes that will compliment the fabric. She wants to wait until the furniture is in to make any plans in case we decide to move stuff around which would cover up some of the mural. I will definitely be taking step-by-step pictures of the progress.

All in all, it was a semiproductive weekend even though I didn't get the house cleaned for the billionth weekend in a row.
