So Close

Well, the baby shower went off without a hitch and it was a huge success. The food and cake and flowers and everything was just gorgeous! I will have pictures later after my sister gets them printed off but let me just tell you -- I made out like a bandit! There were about 40 people there and I think we opened five or so more gifts after we got home from people that didn't come. Not to mention the people that didn't come and didn't send a gift. Those should be coming UPS between now and the time baby girl arrives. My friend Rhonda came, who is five days ahead of me and at the end of the shower while everyone was cleaning up, we were grazing at the table of food. She on one side of the table and me on the other with both our hands full of fruit, veggies and croissants. At one point, I think we drew a crowd, but we were hungry! It had been two whole hours since we'd eaten! And we didn't dirty any new plates, we just ate with our hands, which is nice of us, right?

I got my stroller, papasan bouncy chair, bathtub, play gym, tons of clothes, some diapers, tons of teething toys and bath toys, hair bows, frilly socks, and mom brought what was left of the bedding and such. Here are a couple pictures of the finished room. We just finished painting it yesterday with the help of my sister. I will have to take a picture of her overflowing closet. I got more lined baskets and put everything away in the drawers and hung everything up. Now, we are just missing the baby.

My next shower is this weekend and it is the firefighter/police shower. We should do pretty good and get most of what is left on the registry. And what is not left, we are up to $440 in gift cards. I am guessing we could be over $600 before the whole thing is said and done.

Overall, the weekend was awesome. My husband is exhausted from getting home from work at 4 a.m. Sunday morning and painting all day and hanging curtains, but I may let him relax tonight.
