9 Month Checkup
Yesterday, Sydney turned 9 months old. I can't believe the time has gone by so fast. She has grown so much, yet not much at all. The doctor said she will be little. She got her polio shot and they pricked her finger for the anemia test. She didn't really cry on either but looked at them like, "What the hell are you doing to me?" She is only in the 10th percentile for height (at a whopping 26 inches), 40th percentile for her weight (17 pounds, 10 ounces), and 50th percentile for her head size (17 inches).
She is broadening her horizons on food choices. Finally! I am going tonight to get some finger foods for her and step 3 foods. She has one tooth that has broken through and another one on the way. I think I will start slow since when I gave her little bitty pear pieces last night, she stuck her tongue out with the piece of fruit on it and let it fall onto her bib. But, she loves those Gerber Biter Biscuits that they have. They're messy but she seems to really like them.
She started crawling on July 4 and has gotten more and more mobile since. She likes to follow you from room to room and that is great for me now that I don't have to carry her there. My back will thank her one day. She pulls up on everything and we have had to lower her bed twice. She is standing in her crib when I go get her in the mornings.
We are on the search for a new nanny. My mother-in-law got a full-time job and had to give up her Thursdays and Fridays and unfortunately, the current nanny can't go full time. So, we are back at square one. I have interviewed one woman who wanted to keep her in her home and nixed that about five minutes into the interview. Her 3-year-old was screaming for her bottle. When she looked at me all embarrassed, she tried to explain that she just "plays with it" and it's "no big deal." While filling it up, the little girl screams, "Why are you putting water in it? I hate water!" So, when she came into the living room with it, I noticed that it was COKE in the bottle and she was sucking on it like there was no tomorrow. Her daughters then proceeded to bring every toy they owned into the living room and began banging on them so loud that we couldn't hear each other talk. So, instead of politely asking them to take the toys in their room or to play quietly, she ignored them, quit talking and just stared at me since she couldn't hear what I was saying.
I guess I'll just keep looking. I have until Sept. 5. So, just minor pressure.

Man! I can’t believe she’s already crawling AND the teeth are breaking in! Make the growing slow down already!!
my son is also nine months 31 inches, 20lbs, 15 ounces, and head is 47 cm . He is in the 95 percentile for his head and height and 75 percentile for weight. He started crawling 2 months ago and is about to walk. Your picture of your daughter is adorable.

“My nani’s Home Day Care”
I’m sure you will find someone great for your daughter. She is a cutie alright, and she looks like she would be a joy to have around. I’m sure whom ever you find, she will be a great blessing to. I have 5 grand children, ages 7,5 she is the one that gave me my “Nani” name,2, and 1yr. old set of twin boys, and of course my 5 daycare kids.
Good luck,and God bless
WOW! I can’t believe how much she has grown. Seems like you just had her. But then again, it seems like I just found out I was pregnant and here she is…3 months old! Time flies.
Glad to hear things are going well though. Good luck with finding the care. It was hard but I found a place I am comfortable with…for now;-)
She’s beautiful. hope all is well with you.
You are not the first or last parents to go through this. Enjoy being a parent !
