What Are You Doing for Father's Day?
But what about Father's Day? I was always at a bit of a loss choosing Father's Day gifts when my son was a toddler. As he got older it was easier because they shared more interests like sports, movies and they both loved the same restaurants. One idea I'm loving this year that could definitely work for toddlers involves giving Dad a book about fatherhood. What better way to reinforce a father's closeness to his child than with books they can share every day?
What are your plans this year for gifts and celebrating the day with Dad?

Who says that Dads can’t appreciate painter hand prints! For Father’s Day I bought a cheap blue polo shirt and put my hand print in the middle and our 5 year old’s and 10 month old’s hand print with fabric paint and wrote “We love you” on top and “2009″ on the bottom. We put it on the back side of the shirt rather than the front and I think it looks great!
I make a photobook every year with pictures of my sons and my husband. Each father’s day it documents all the fun they had together during the previous year. He loves it and the boys will cherish it in the future!
My toddler loves to collect pebbles while on our daily walks, so we end up put them in our yard. I had the idea to make some play doh that you bake and spell out DAD ROCKS with pebbles. Your toddler can help make the doh and form it in to a ball, after you put the pebbles and bake it they can paint it. It will be a great addition to our garden and something my hubby will love.
My husband is in a wheelchair. For Fathers Day, we’re taking the family to a wildlife preserve where he can fish with the girls in a trout stream. The only folks allowed to fish there are the disabled and children under 12. It’s fun for the girls and a lot of fun for him. And once the girls get board of fishing, he gets some fishing time alone and we go hiking. Everyone has a great day.
