Toddlers love grilled cheese sandwiches. The bonus here is that they are quick and easy for busy moms, too. Here's how to make a grilled cheese sandwich that will please your toddler every time.

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Cook Time: 5 minutes

Total Time: 10 minutes

Yield: 1 sandwich

Ingredients:

  • 2 slices bread
  • 1 slice cheese or 1/4 cup grated cheese
  • butter or margarine

Preparation:

Spread a thin layer of butter or margarine on one side of each piece of bread.

Heat a non-stick skillet to medium heat.

When the pan is hot, place a slice of bread (buttered side down) into the skillet and then place the cheese on the bread. Top with the other slice of bread (unbuttered side down).

Flip the sandwich with a spatula when it is golden brown (or after about 2 minutes). Cook for another 1-2 minutes longer.

Use a pizza cutter, knife or kitchen shears to cut the sandwich into bite-sized pieces for your toddler.

Note: You can use any type of cheese that melts easily and you can add thinly sliced or grated veggies or lunch meat to the sandwich to add more nutritional value. Use whole wheat bread for even more health benefits.
