Day 27 - - Recycle
Summer Fun

By , About.com Guide

Now is a great time to teach your child about the importance of recycling and helping the environment. If you don't already recycle, check with your local waste services provider to find out if they have any programs already in place. Many cities provide bins that you can put your items in for pick-up on designated days.

Show your children the markings on packages that indicate they can be recycled and tell them to help you keep an eye out for any recyclable items that might get thrown away.

Another form of recycling involves making things like artwork and other projects from things that can be thrown away. Check out some of these projects and see if there's something you can make with items you already have.

Also, consider donating items like paper towel rolls, toilet paper rolls, old formula cans, baby food jars, margarine tubs, coffee cans and empty gallon milk jugs to your local child care center. They are almost always in need of these items for art projects.
