Breastfeeding is My Gift to My Daughter

What did you enjoy most about breastfeeding?

I am so happy that I've been able to provide every ounce of nutrition my daughter has received. It is my gift to her!

What was the hardest part of breastfeeding?

I, too, have an unpredictable work schedule. I work 12-hour shifts as a nurse in a hospital. Some days are crazy and hectic and some days are slightly less hectic. I pump three times each shift when I can, but often I am only able to pump twice. However, my daughter has not had anything but breast milk! The way I manage this is by pumping at home. When the supply is running low, I pump at night after my daughter goes to sleep because it'll be a few hours before I need to feed her again. It's never as much as when I pump at work, but every little bit helps!

Tips and Tricks

  • Pump as much as you can and not just at work.
