A little bit about this picture

This picture was taken at our church's Easter egg hunt. It was the first year my son actually hunted Easter eggs on his own. We were so surprised how into it he was. He had so much fun, we had to hide Easter eggs at home for the next week!

Tell us about your Easter holiday

We always start our Easter celebration at church. Then we go to this park right next door to take our picture each year. It's our way of taking a nice picture of our family all dressed up and in the same spot on Easter. It's a great keepsake to see how much we've all changed over the past year. We have an Easter lunch at our home, and then hunt Easter eggs. We also buy a chocolate bunny as a treat. But, to this day, our son won't eat his bunnies because he can't bear to rip the foil off his treat!

Advice

  • Stop and enjoy the Easter egg hunt with your kids. It doesn't matter if they get 2 eggs or 20. Make sure you take pictures as they pick up the eggs, instead of trying to get them to make a mad dash to find the next egg. The picture is worth so much more than a piece of candy inside a plastic egg.
  • Create age-appropriate crafts together in the week leading up to Easter. It's fun to teach them about Easter and spread out the fun vs. just enjoying a once a year holiday on one day.
  • Don't get discouraged if your toddler isn't interested in dying eggs. My son didn't want to help but was happy to watch me do it!
