By Stephanie Brown, About.com

In a world full of television, electronic games and other sedentary activities it can be hard to keep our toddlers active and fit. Add to that the already busy lives that families have (and lots of time in the car) and it can be hard to find the time to fit regular physical activities into the schedule. How do you manage to keep your toddler active and fit? Share your tips and ideas with other parents. How Do You Do It?

no problem

Toddlers are naturally active, curious, perpetual motion machines. Get rid of computer type games and turn off the TV, it's not good for their little brains anyway.

Make a mess

As much as I try to make crafts a fun time there's always the stress of the mess. So I decided on a make a mess game and clean-up time. I put a plastic tablecloth under the kiddie table and we choose what mess to make. Either with glue, fingerpaint, paint and my daughters all time favorite Flour & Water. She gets to do whatever however as long as it's on the table. This usually will last an hour. After that it's clean time together. Then more bathtime and it's worked wonders to accept the mess!
